I Owe My Son a Dollar

My kids (DD7 and DS9)were goofing around last night at bed time and talking about their superstition that you could make it snow by wearing your pajamas inside out. My DD7 told her brother that he also had to run into each room in the house including closets and dance around and yell in order to ensure snow. (I think she was just trying to get rid of him for a few minutes cause when he did it she said "that ought to keep him busy for a while".) Anyway, I bet him a dollar that it still would not snow even if he did it. He took the bet and lo and behold, we had a coating of snow on the ground this morning. That's what I get for not checking the forcast first before agreeing to his bet.

    when my mom was a kid she thought singing 'jingle bells' would make it snow, something she passed along to me and my sister. so now november through february we'll randomly burst into jingle bells whenever we're hoping for a snow day Big Grin

    I'm not letting anyone outside in pajamas anymore! I had no idea that's what makes snow appear...my darn kids must have been sneaking outside in their jammies a lot this winter. I think I'll ground them all!

    LOL! That story is worth at least a dollar...

    Robex, it is not going outside in your PJ's according to my kids - it is wearing them turned inside out all night long. My kids always try this when snow is forcast, sometimes my oldest DD who is now 16 has even still been known to do this. But don't tell - I already embarrass her enought she says.

    Well me and my friends does this every winter to make it snow. And I still do it! You turn your Pjs' inside out go outside.You dance for 10 minutes, Wish for it to snow! My friend actually recently told me this...You are also suppose to put a Spoon under your pillow...It's suppose to help it snow! Me and friends are weird! Wink

    Let's see, you put a quarter in the freezer, flush an ice cube down the toliet, put a spoon under your pillow, wear your PJs inside out, do the snow dance, listen to Christmas songs (DON'T LISTEN TO SONGS WITH THE WORD "SUNNY" IN THE SONG OR THE TITLE, YOU'LL JINX IT). That's what my friend did and we had a blizard the next day!
